What each board part means

Provider

The operator whose result you are reading, such as Magnum 4D or Singapore Pools.

Draw date

The date for this board. Match it against the date printed on your ticket.

Draw number

Sequential identifier of the draw within the year, such as 1234/26. Match it against the draw number printed on your ticket.

Top 3

First, second, and third prize. Big and Small tickets can both cover these rows.

Special or Starter

Ten secondary prize numbers. Big covers this row, Small does not.

Consolation

Ten lower-tier prize numbers. Big covers this row, Small does not.

Check these against your ticket

Five spots to compare before assuming your ticket is a winner.

Provider

Provider name on the ticket and on the board must be identical. A Magnum ticket never wins on a Toto board.

Draw date

Draw date prints on both. They must match exactly, not just the weekday.

Draw number

Draw number lines up. Useful when the same 4-digit number wins on more than one date.

Number

Your 4-digit number. Leading zeroes are part of the number — 0123 is not 1230.

Bet type

Bet type marking — Big or Small, Straight, Box, or iBox — controls which prize rows you can claim from.

Ticket check examples

1234

Straight Small

Covered match. 1234 is 1st Prize, and Small covers Top 3.

3456

Straight Big

Covered match. 3456 is under Special, and Big covers Special.

3456

Straight Small

Matched but not covered. Small only covers Top 3.

4321

Box Big

Check permutations first. 1234 is a permutation, then Big coverage applies.

Before claiming

Match all four digits, the provider, and the draw date. Then apply the ticket type: Straight checks exact order, Box checks permitted permutations, Big covers all 23 result rows, and Small covers Top 3 only.
